| Q. Can you guarantee that we catch fish on our trip? A. Though we do have a pretty high success rate, somedays the fish just do not cooperate. Even if the bite is slow you will gain alot of knowledge that may help you in the future. Q. What kind of trips do you offer? A. We offer full day(8 hrs) and half day(4 hrs) fishing trips. Trips typically begin around first light. We are more than willing to tailor our services to meet your needs, just ask. We typically have our clients meet us at the boat ramp. Q. When is the best time to take a fishing trip? A. We offer trips year around. Contrary to popular belief, fishing can be excellent all year long, even during the coldest months of the year. Personally, Fall and Winter are my favorite times to fish but we catch them every month of the year. Each season requires a different approach but plenty of fish get caught. Q. Can we keep the fish that we catch? A. To promote conservation, all largemouth bass will be released alive. Other species may be kept as long as they are of legal size. In the case of trophy fish, we can take measurments and multiple photographs which your taxidermist can use to produce a replica mount. Q. Do I need any fishing experience? A. No experience is needed. We can provide everything needed to fish, all you need is a fishing license. We can teach those who may be new to bass fishing how to catch fish on artificial lures. We can also educate more experienced anglers on the finer points of certain techniques. Q. Is a fishing license required? A. Yes, clients must provide their own North Carolina fishing license. They may be checked at anytime by a NCWRC officer. Click here to purchase your license online, it can be printed and used instantly. Q. Does the guide fish during the trip? A. Yes, the guide will fish some unless the client states otherwise. It will help the guide determine the best game plan for a successful day. Q. What do I need to bring with me? A. Bring anything that you wish to eat or drink (no alcohol or illegal substances will be tolerated), ice will be provided in the boat's cooler. Dress accordingly for the weather, we still fish in rain and cold conditions (usually great fishing days). Also bring any personal gear that you wish to use. Sunscreen is a good idea since the sun can be intense and there is rarely any shade on a bass boat. Q. What is provided by the guide? A. Tackle, ice, fuel, digital photos of fish if requested. We also provide life jackets, we require that they be worn anytime the big motor is running. Federal law requires anyone on the boat under 13 years of age to wear a life jacket at all times. We require that Life Jackets be worn at all times by non swimmers, this will ensure that everyone makes it back safely. Q. What kind of fish can we catch? A. Our primary focus is largemouth bass, however at times striped bass and white bass can provide some exciting fishing opportunities. You never know what you might catch. Q. How many people can you accomodate? A. We can carry two anglers and the guide. If needed we can arrange for an additional boat and guide (Other guide's rate will apply for the second boat). Q. What kind of bait do you use? A. We fish only with artificial lures. |
